Support the Omukyala Campaign “Cycle of Care” to Empower Women and Girls with Reusable Menstrual Products

Email :14

Menstrual health is a critical issue that affects the lives of women and girls worldwide. In Uganda, the stark reality is that nearly a quarter of secondary school girls drop out when they start menstruating, and 65% of women and girls are unable to meet their basic menstrual health needs. This heartbreaking situation limits the potential of those impacted.

However, there is hope. Malaika4WC, in collaboration with Einstein Rising, through the Skills for Change, is working to break the silence around menstruation and provide dignity and hygiene to those who need it most. Their reusable sanitary towels, made with sustainable materials, offer an affordable and eco-friendly solution.

The OMUKYALA CAMPAIGN “CYCLE OF CARE” aims to distribute over 2,500 Laiki Pads to girls and women in slums and schools across Uganda. Through supporting this initiative, you can make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing the challenges of menstrual poverty.

As the Skills for Change Project Manager, Barbara Nangendo, eloquently states, “It affects several aspects of the women’s lives that are essential for one’s survival.” From social stigma and isolation to educational setbacks and economic hardship, the impact of inadequate menstrual health is far-reaching.

Your donation can help break this cycle and empower women and girls to reach their full potential. Join the movement today and be a part of creating a more equitable world, one pad at a time.
