The National Building Review Board (NBRB), a corporate body under the Ministry of Works and Transport, launched the National Building Control Awards 2024 to recognize individuals and organizations making significant contributions towards ensuring compliance and sustainability in the built environment in Uganda.
The awards themed “Building for Sustainability,” will adopt a participatory approach, allowing the public to nominate potential winners across 7 categories. The categories are divided into two sub-themes: Technology and Harmony with the Environment.

The National Building Control Awards 2024 aim to incentivize and showcase the efforts of those who are leading the charge in developing and implementing sustainable building practices in Uganda. NBRB encourages all Ugandans to visit the awards website and cast their votes for the nominees they believe have made the greatest impact.
The Award recipients will be those who have developed innovative technologies, improved existing solutions, or integrated sustainable approaches into their operations to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impacts. The awards will also honor those who have comprehensively incorporated sustainability parameters like energy efficiency, eco-friendly materials, natural ventilation, green spaces, water conservation, and waste reduction into their products and processes.
As the government body tasked with promoting planned, decent, and safe building structures that are in harmony with the environment, NBRB is excited to launch these awards and showcase the innovative work being done in the Ugandan built environment while celebrating the achievements of those who are leading the way towards a more sustainable future.
The public is invited to visit the National Building Control Awards 2024 Website to learn more about the categories and nominees, and to cast their votes.
