World Vision Uganda and Consortium Partners Organize Regreening Field Exposition in West Nile Region

Email :76

World Vision Uganda, together with partners in the Regreening consortium, recently organized a Media Cafe in West Nile. The event brought together media professionals to discuss the pivotal role journalism can play in amplifying and supporting grassroots efforts towards more sustainable practices. The Media Cafe provided a valuable platform for stakeholders to come together and explore how we can harness the power of media to drive positive change at the community level.

During the gathering, participants also had the opportunity to visit the Loketa Farmer Group in the Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, where they witnessed firsthand the implementation of the Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) model – a community-led regreening approach that is improving food security.

Furthermore, World Vision Uganda, in partnership with CRS Uganda and CARE Uganda, hosted a high-level delegation of Members of Parliament, district officials, and the Natural Resources Committee of Parliament. The discussions centred around sustainable natural resource management practices and their potential to enhance food security and livelihoods in fragile contexts.

The regreening field exposition concluded with stakeholders, including members of Parliament, planting trees as a commitment to embrace and promote regreening initiatives for improved livelihoods, food and nutrition security in both refugee and host communities. For Details.
